About Us
Deep Space Initiative was created with the aim of increasing accessibility and opportunity in space for all. The inspiration for DSI came from the truth that the universe belongs to the entire human race, and should not be limited to the select few. Our goal is to establish a community where scientists, engineers, lawyers and designers can work together to address humanity’s most difficult problems together, proving that borders can be erased.
STORY
DSI was founded by Sara Sabry - the first Egypitan Astronaut, and first Arab and African woman to go to space. Sara is a manifestation of the truth the DSI holds, reconizing the value of global access to space and for everyone, no matter where they are, to have the ability to realize their dream of working in space.
WHAT WE DO
DSI operates through three pillars: Research, Education, and Legal. By contributing to groundbreaking research, offering inclusive education, and advocating for a global space community, we pave the way for universal participation in space exploration
